Counselors
Rev. George W. Rinker, MDiv., MS
George is an ordained Presbyterian Minister in the PCUSA as
well as a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Georgia.
He received his MDiv. from Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur,
Georgia in 1991. George received his MS in Community Counseling
from Georgia State University on 1996. Prior to his counseling/pastoral
care ministry, he served various congregations in the southeast
in the areas of Christian Education, Youth/Family Ministry and
Pastoral Care.
Currently, Rev. Rinker serves the church by training therapeutic
foster parents in the State of Georgia; assisting parents in the
adoption of children around the world; teaching Psychology and
Religion classes at Georgia Perimeter College; teaching graduate
level counseling classes at Argosy University in Atlanta; counseling
with individuals, children, teens and couples; career counseling;
and, providing assessments of individuals who are seeking ordination
in the church. His personal style is warm, encouraging and direct.
Dr. Rick Van Haveren, PhD.
Dr. Van Haveren holds a PhD. From Oklahoma State University and
is a Licensed Psychologist in the State of Georgia. Rick serves
in his private practice in Alpharetta, Georgia as well as teaches
Professional Counseling Classes at Argosy University in Atlanta.
He is a member of the American Psychological Association. His
practice includes serving individuals, couples, psychological
testing and career counseling. His style is encouraging and affirming.
